40,000 Square Feet of Intuitive, Unobtrusive Control

Introduction

The owner of this unique 40,000 square-foot contemporary home located in Bel Air, CA was looking to install a dependable whole home automation
system without it being intrusive. These homeowners were looking for a system that would allow them to control the lighting, shades, and sound systems without adding bulky devices.

It was important that the solution blended in with the beautiful décor and accentuated the modern aesthetic of the home. A simple, intuitive user experience was a major component of this project. The homeowners also wanted to have the ability to create custom lighting scenes and have full control over the entire home directly from their wireless devices.

The Challenge

The challenge for this project was one of scale: integrate two Crestron Pyng® systems and an AV3 3-Series® Control System to work in perfect harmony on one user interface running on 10″ touch screens and smart devices including iPad® tablets.

The Solution

One Crestron Pyng system controls lights and shades, while the second one controls music.

Results

This unique 40,000 square-foot contemporary property exemplifies an ultimate Crestron home: seamless and unobtrusive integration of all systems and technology, and an intuitive and consistent user experience in every room.
